Bishop Perowne dancers entertain Alton Towers visitors

After enjoying a masterclass from the Alton Towers Entertainment Team, dance students took part in a special performance at the theme park on Wednesday 5th July.

The Alton Towers team visited the school on Monday 12th June to complete a workshop with Year 9 and 10 GCSE and BTEC dancers.  The students learnt a performance piece that included a number of different dance styles from jazz, right through to street.

They then rehearsed every Wednesday lunchtime adding in their own bits of choreography, before joining seven other schools to perform their routine to visitors at Alton Towers.

Mark Pollard, Headteacher at Bishop Perowne CE College, commented, "We aim to give our students the opportunity to really push themselves and offer experiences that take them out of the classroom to develop their learning. Approximately 40 students were involved in the project and they all gained so much knowledge from the Alton Towers dancers and their performance."
