Throughout the course there is a significant emphasis on a student’s ability to solve logical problems through computational thinking and Maths.

The course students study is the OCR Computer Science GCSE (9-1) – J277

The course comprises of three areas:

• Systems Architecture – Assessed by examination – 50% of the final grade
• Computational thinking, algorithms and programming – Assessed by examination – 50% of the final grade
• Extended Programming Projects – Programming Projects are completed throughout KS4. These no longer count towards the final grade, but support students’ success in the exams.
