Curriculum Intent
Our mission is to provide an education which changes lives for the better.
We work hard to deliver exciting and engaging learning opportunities enabling students to see possibilities for themselves and others. We are inclusive and provide a joyful and disciplined school culture. We believe the best way to do this is to offer a curriculum that:
- Supports students’ academic success by promoting knowledge-based learning
- Is academically challenging and rigorous
- Is broad and balanced offering both breadth and depth
- Promotes students’ social, moral, spiritual and cultural development
- Offers high quality enrichment, broadening students’ horizons
Our courses in Years 7 to 11 comply with the requirements of the National Curriculum.
Key Stage 3 Curriculum
The Key Stage 3 Curriculum provision (Year 7-Year 9) aims to provide a broad and balanced education. All subjects meet the requirements of the National Curriculum, as a minimum. There is an emphasis on promoting strength and success in traditional academic subjects, but this is balanced with a desire to foster variety in our provision.
There is a focus on developing children’s moral, spiritual, social and cultural understanding. We ensure that children are well prepared for life in modern Britain. This is achieved through the taught curriculum and the programme of enrichment activities.
The curriculum is regularly reviewed and developed to not only meet the needs of our students, but to provide rich opportunities for them to develop a range of skills and enjoy memorable experiences.

Key Stage 4 Curriculum
Key Stage 4 (Year 10-Year 11) is the final two years of study towards final qualification. The Key Stage 4 core curriculum incorporates the core subjects of English Language and Literature, Maths, Combined Science, core PE, PSHE, and RE. Students undertake an options process in the Spring term of Year 9 to make choices around their wider curriculum.
