Governing Board of Bishop Perowne Church of England College
The school is an academy and it is constituted in line with the Articles of Association. There is provision for 13 governors to be appointed to the board:
- 1x Headteacher
- 2x Parent Governors
- 1x Appointed by the Arch Deacon
- 7x Foundation governors
- Up to 2 governors may be co-opted
The three core strategic functions of the board for Bishop Perowne Church of England College are:
- Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
- Holding the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the college and its students
- Overseeing the financial performance of the college and making sure that its money is well spent.
Governors are also responsible for ensuring that the school meets statutory requirements and the Full Governing Body meets 8 times a year. The finance, audit and risk (FAR) committee meet at least termly.
