Teacher Development
At Bishop Perowne Church of England College, we believe that great teaching starts with great teachers, and that every teacher, no matter how experienced, can keep learning and improving.

Inspiration
We’re inspired by the words of education expert Dylan Wiliam: ‘Every teacher can improve, not because they are not good enough, but because they can be even better.’ This belief underpins our commitment to staff development and ongoing professional growth.
Continuing Professional Development
To support this, we provide a dedicated one-hour CPD (Continuing Professional Development) session every week. This protected time allows staff to engage with evidence-informed research, strengthen classroom practice, and work collaboratively. Our training is shaped by what’s happening in our classrooms, regular staff feedback, and our school’s priorities, so it is always relevant, timely, and impactful.
supportive approach
We are also growing our focus on instructional coaching and deliberate practice. This supportive approach helps teachers make small, focused changes and build lasting habits through regular, purposeful practice.
Professional development
Professional development is part of our everyday culture. With open-door classrooms, regular lesson drop-ins, and shared feedback, our staff continuously learn from one another to deliver the best possible education for every student.
